Everest: To Climb or not to climb?
Hundreds of thrill seekers every year flock to the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. Sadly, some climbers never make it home.
So what drives so many humans to risk their lives to conquer this mountain?
During this project you will read the novel Into Thin Air by John Krakauer or Peak by Roland Smith. You will participate in book clubs, which will allow you to ask questions about Mount Everest and through research, seek answers with your peers.

After extensive research, you will apply your knowledge and create newsletters on the above topics. You will also use this knowledge to write a persuasive essay swaying people to climb or not climb Mount Everest. Your published newsletters and essays will be on display at REI and Adventure 16 Outdoor & Travel Outfitters to inform adventurists about this legendary mountain!
